Fantasy Football Week 4 Waiver Wire Targets

Week 4 brought plenty of injuries, breakout performances and changing backfield situations, creating some intriguing waiver-wire opportunities. From Emanuel Wilson and Will Shipley to potential high-upside stashes like Tyreek Hill and Joe Mixon, here are the players I’m targeting most on the waiver wire this week.
1. Emanuel Wilson — RB
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Wilson just exploded for 27 fantasy points, rushing 21 times for two touchdowns. The Seattle backfield is suddenly one of the more interesting situations in fantasy football. Jadarian Price is on IR, Joe Mixon was just signed, and Zach Charbonnet is eligible to return from IR.
There’s plenty of uncertainty about how the backfield will shake out, but Wilson has already demonstrated that he can handle a significant workload. If he’s still available in your league, he should be one of your top waiver claims.

2. Will Shipley — RB
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Eagles’ backfield could be opening the door for Shipley.
Saquon Barkley is dealing with a hamstring strain and is considered week-to-week, while Tank Bigsby is dealing with a lower-body injury that will require core muscle surgery and a stint on IR.
Shipley probably won’t be as efficient as a runner as Barkley, but his receiving ability gives him plenty of PPR appeal. If Barkley misses time, Shipley should have an opportunity to become a significant part of Philadelphia’s offense.
⸻
3. Keon Coleman — WR
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Coleman finally had the breakout fantasy managers have been waiting for.
DJ Moore aggravated his shoulder injury, and Coleman took advantage by putting together a big Week 4 performance. If Moore is forced to miss time, Coleman has now shown that he can step into a larger role and produce.
The opportunity could be exactly what Coleman needs to establish himself as a flex option that you can feel confident about.
⸻
4. Tyreek Hill — WR
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yes, Tyreek Hill is still a free agent — and he needs to be rostered.
Hill’s agent recently said he’s in talks with a team and expects a deal to potentially happen within the next few days. Kansas City makes plenty of sense after losing their deep threat for an extended period and dealing with a hamstring injury to Rashee Rice, but Hill could ultimately land anywhere.
Based on the videos Hill has posted, he looks explosive and ready to contribute.
There are obviously questions about where he’ll land and what his role will be, but the upside is simply too high to ignore. If you have a roster spot, take the shot.
⸻
5. Kirk Cousins — QB
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cousins continues to quietly put together a very strong fantasy season.
He’s currently QB9 on the season, just posted 22.6 fantasy points against a strong Kansas City pass defense, and is tied for the league lead with 11 touchdown passes.
He’s not the most exciting name on the waiver wire, but Cousins has been consistently productive and should be considered a legitimate streaming option — and potentially more — for fantasy managers looking for quarterback help.
⸻
6. Keaton Mitchell — RB
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐
I don’t particularly love the Chargers offense, but Mitchell is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
Mitchell played a 37% snap share in Week 4, the highest among Chargers running backs. Meanwhile, we’ve watched Hampton’s usage shrink as Mitchell’s workload has continued to increase.
Mitchell has now scored double-digit fantasy points in back-to-back games and is becoming a viable flex option despite playing in an offense that hasn’t exactly inspired confidence.
⸻
7. Joe Mixon — RB
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐
Mixon was just signed by Seattle after Jadarian Price was placed on IR.
He hasn’t played in a while, so I wouldn’t expect him to immediately take over the backfield. However, depending on how Wilson and Charbonnet perform, Mixon could eventually work his way into a significant role.
He’s more of a speculative stash right now, but the potential workload makes him worth a roster spot in deeper leagues.
⸻
8. T.J. Hockenson — TE
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐
Hockenson saw a team-high 13 targets against Miami and turned them into 24.9 fantasy points.
A big reason for the target volume was Justin Jefferson’s absence, so expectations should be tempered if Jefferson returns. Still, you can’t ignore 13 targets from a tight end.
Hockenson remains one of the better waiver-wire options at a position where reliable volume is extremely difficult to find.
⸻
9. Roman Wilson — WR
Priority: ⭐⭐⭐
Wilson continues to quietly establish himself in Pittsburgh.
He’s received six targets in each of his games and has now scored a touchdown in back-to-back games. More importantly, Aaron Rodgers has increasingly leaned on Wilson as a complement to DK Metcalf rather than Michael Pittman.
We’ll have to see whether that usage continues, but six targets per game combined with his recent touchdown production makes Wilson an intriguing stash.
⸻
If you’re making waiver claims this week, I’d prioritize the players with the clearest path to increased opportunity — particularly Emanuel Wilson, Shipley and Coleman.
